For example, if a 200Level economics student Doyin has SOC 111 Textbook that she bought for #500 and is no longer in need of, she can sell this material at *good price, say #300, by posting the advert in a comment box made available under SOC 111 on the site. When a 100Level student Alex who is interested finds the advert, he will contact Doyin by Phone/WhatsApp on the number provided in the advert. Then both of them can agree at a meeting point in the Faculty where the exchange can be done.

By this Transaction, Doyin earns #300 back, spending a total of #200 on the textbook (#500 - #300); and Alex saves #200, buying the textbook for #300 from Doyin instead of #500 from the regular store.

From the payoff matrix for Doyin and Alex shown above, these are the possible scenarios:

* Both of them save #500 when they agree (#1000 - #500); or

* Doyin losses #300 when she alone doesn't agree (#500 - #200); or

* Alex losses #200 when he alone doesn't agree (#500 - #300); or

* Both of them loss #500 when they don't agree.

This analysis is drawn on the assumption that Doyin no longer needs her SOC 111 textbook and Alex has a demand for one copy.

After a successful transaction, Doyin visits her advert on this site to delete the post. Else it will be ‘Flagged as inappropriate’ by another student who finds out that the textbook has been sold. And the post will automatically be deleted when 3 potential buyers flag it as inappropriate.

*A good price is a price well below the normal price: if a material is normally sold for #500, a good price should range between #200 to #300 depending on the neatness of the material.

RULES FOR THE SELLER

Only materials such as Past Questions, Recommended Textbooks, Relevant Textbooks, etc. should be advertised and posted in their corresponding related course page i.e. BUS 221 textbook should be posted in the BUS 221 page.

Please make sure to follow the stated guideline when posting your advert. Any post that doesn’t comply with the guideline will be deleted.

We advise you put in your WhatsApp phone number for easy contacting.

You may also post a picture of the material you advertise (this requires you login).

Remember to delete your post after a successful transaction. You will need to login to see the delete option

State a good price, advisably below the normal price.

State '0' in the 'PRICE' section if you want to give out the material for free, and please ensure you verify through the student ID card that the receiver is a student of the department.

You can always post your advert as a guest if you don't want to login: Click on Start/Join the Discussion then Name then tick I'd like to post as a guest.

NB: If you post as a guest, you will need to wait for your advert to be approved before it appears on the site.

RULES FOR THE BUYER

DO NOT fix a meeting point outside the Faculty.

DO NOT fix a meeting point in private locations within the Faculty.

Ensure you confirm the material at the meeting point before paying.

You do not need to reply a seller's post on the site, just contact him through the provided phone number (by Phone call or WhatsApp messaging).

When you find out a material has already been sold, kindly flag the advert as inappropriate by clicking on the flag beside the post. The post will be automatically deleted once flagged 3 times.
